Dental Veneers

At East Park Healthcare we specialise in Dental Veneers. Dental veneers are a thin custom-made shell that is designed to cover the front surface of your teeth, improving their appearance.

Veneers are commonly made from porcelain or composite resin. Porcelain veneers are known for their durability and natural appearance, while composite veneers are more affordable but may not last as long.

Veneers are used to address various cosmetic issues, such as discoloration, stains, chips, cracks, and minor misalignments. They can also be used to close gaps between teeth.

A typical procedure will involve preparing the teeth by removing a thin layer of enamel to make room for the veneers. Impressions are then taken, and the veneers are custom-made in our dental laboratory. In the final visit, the veneers are bonded to the teeth.

Veneers are customised to match the natural colour, shape, and size of your teeth, providing a natural and aesthetically pleasing result.

Porcelain veneers are known for their durability and resistance to stains. With proper care, they can last for many years.

Veneers require regular oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups. Avoiding excessive force or pressure on the veneers is also important to prevent damage.

Dental veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry option for individuals looking to enhance the appearance of their smile.

AM I SUITABLE FOR DENTAL VENEERS?
Dental Veneers are generally suitable for people with healthy teeth and gums. However, it may not be recommended for individuals with certain dental conditions such as extensive cavities or gum disease, pregnant or lactating women, and those with allergies to whitening agents. Dental Veneers can help repair chipped or broken teeth, diastema (gaps or spaces in your smile), stains that don’t improve with teeth whitening, teeth that are too small, misshapen teeth. A consultation with our specialist Dr Choudry at East Park Healthcare will determine if dental veneers are suitable for you.
WHAT DOES GETTING DENTAL VENEERS INVOLVE?
Veneers are coverings that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. At East Park Healthcare we use the latest technology, techniques and materials such as high-quality dental composite, porcelain or a mixture of both to help you achieve that perfect smile. Dental veneers are cosmetic in nature. They can conceal a wide range of aesthetic imperfections, including chips, cracks, gaps, tooth discoloration and more.
HOW LONG DOES THE PROCEDURE TAKE?
During your initial appointment, Dr Choudry will examine your teeth and gums to determine if you’re eligible for veneers. Once suitability is established the teeth are prepared, impressions taken and sent to our dental lab who will then make your custom veneers. On the second visit your veneers are fitted and checked for any necessary adjustments. There’s no downtime following veneer placement. People who receive dental veneers can return to normal activities the same day. You can also eat or drink immediately after your appointment, as long as the anaesthesia has worn off.
DO DENTAL VENEERS REQUIRE SPECIAL AFTER-CARE?
Brushing, flossing and visiting your dentist regularly are all you need to do to keep your veneers in good working condition. Be sure to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and non- abrasive fluoride toothpaste. Avoid whitening products, as they can scratch your veneers. On average, dental veneers last between 10 to 15 years, however to ensure longevity proper care and maintenance is important. You should avoid biting directly into hard or crunchy foods like apples, carrots and tough meats. Cut up these foods and chew them with your back teeth. Porcelain veneers are stain resistant, but it’s still a good idea to avoid dark- coloured foods and beverages, such as berries, red wine, coffee and tea. These foods and drinks can stain your veneers over time.
