Over 1,000 Hair Transplant Procedures
Our experienced hair transplant surgeon has completed over 1,000 procedures and also practises independently from Harley Street in London. Hair transplant procedures are available from our Bury clinic, giving patients across the North West access to an experienced surgeon without the additional costs commonly associated with a central London location.
Hair transplant procedures at our Bury location are performed by our experienced hair transplant surgeon, who has completed over 1,000 hair transplant procedures and also practises independently from Harley Street in London. This enables patients in Greater Manchester and Lancashire to access an experienced hair transplant surgeon closer to home, with consultation, treatment and aftercare available locally.
Suitability depends on several factors, including the cause and pattern of your hair loss, your age, the quality and density of your donor area, your general health and the expected progression of your hair loss. A consultation allows the surgeon to assess your scalp and donor area and discuss whether transplantation is appropriate and what can realistically be achieved.
Your consultation provides an opportunity to assess your hair loss, donor area and existing hair density and to discuss your expectations. The surgeon can consider the proposed hairline, likely number of grafts required and the most appropriate treatment approach. You will also have the opportunity to discuss the procedure, recovery, aftercare, expected results and costs before deciding whether to proceed.
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a hair transplant technique in which individual follicular units are extracted from a donor area, usually at the back and sides of the scalp, and transplanted into areas affected by hair loss. Because follicles are extracted individually, FUE does not produce the linear donor scar associated with traditional strip surgery, although small scars can still occur.
The aim of a hair transplant is to create a result that complements your existing hair, facial features and natural pattern of growth. Hairline design, graft placement, direction, density and donor-hair availability all contribute to the final appearance. Results vary between patients and a responsible consultation should establish realistic expectations rather than guarantee a particular outcome.
Hair transplantation is a gradual process. It is common for transplanted hairs to shed during the first few weeks following the procedure before new growth begins. New hair becomes progressively more noticeable over the following months, with density and appearance continuing to mature. It can take approximately 12–18 months in some patients to appreciate the final result.
Yes. Temporary shedding of the transplanted hairs during the first few weeks is a normal part of the process and does not necessarily mean the transplant has failed. The transplanted follicles remain beneath the skin and subsequently enter a new growth cycle.
Correct aftercare is an important part of protecting the newly transplanted grafts and supporting recovery. You will receive instructions covering areas such as scalp washing, sleeping position, exercise and physical activity, protecting the grafts and when you can return to your normal routine. Having your procedure locally also provides convenient access to follow-up and aftercare should you have concerns during recovery.
This depends on your procedure, occupation and recovery. Many patients return to non-physical work relatively quickly, although some redness, swelling or crusting may initially remain visible. Strenuous exercise is normally avoided during the early healing period. Your surgeon will provide specific guidance on when you can safely resume gym training, sport and other activities.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) is sometimes used as a complementary treatment following hair transplantation and as part of ongoing hair-loss management. East Park Healthcare also provides a range of regenerative hair and scalp treatments. These can be discussed as part of an individual aftercare programme where appropriate, but they should not be regarded as a guarantee of improved transplant growth.
A hair transplant relocates suitable follicles from the donor area but does not necessarily prevent continuing hair loss from your existing, non-transplanted hair. This is why longer-term hair-loss management can be important. Where appropriate, we can discuss medical and regenerative treatment options designed to help manage ongoing hair loss alongside your transplant.
Hair transplant costs depend on the extent of hair loss, number of grafts required and complexity of the procedure. Our surgeon also practises independently from Harley Street in London, where the costs associated with providing treatment in a central London location can be considerably higher. Our Bury service provides access to the surgeon from a North West clinic, allowing treatment to be offered at a different price point. An individual quotation is provided following consultation.
East Park Healthcare offers hair transplant consultations, procedures and aftercare from our Bury clinic. The clinic is conveniently located for patients travelling from Bury, Manchester, Bolton, Rochdale, Blackburn and across Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
